The Minister of Planning, Dr. Nouri Sabah al-Dulaimi, received on Wednesday Dr. Ghazi Ibrahim Raho, Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Statisticians. The meeting discussed joint relations and possible means of support for the implementation of the General Population and Housing Census scheduled for the fourth quarter of next year.
Dr. Nouri Al-Dulaimi pointed to the important role that the Union can play in developing the expertise of the teams implementing the census, informing them about the successful work experiences and the most important challenges that can be faced during the implementation of the census and the best ways to overcome them. Tablets linked to a central database to document census data.
For his part, Dr. Raho praised the Ministry's preparations for the implementation of the General Population Census 2020 and its adoption of the vision of sustainable development 2030, stressing his efforts to strengthen joint work with the Ministry of Planning and activate cooperation between the Ministry and the relevant regional bodies.
