Al-Issawi confirms that Saudi Arabia has entered Iraq strongly to contribute to reconstruction and reconstruction
23rd April, 2019
MP Faleh al-Issawi said on Tuesday that Saudi Arabia has entered Iraq strongly to contribute to its reconstruction and stability and support its sovereignty to curb foreign interference.
"Iraq has suffered a lot from the Iranian presence, which has brought him only a lot of economic, political and security problems, and what has happened during the previous years is the best evidence of that," Al-Issawi said. "The return of Iraq to the Arab embrace means returning to taking the initiative in keeping Regional and international stability".
"The Saudi presence in Iraq is of great importance in contributing to the reconstruction of its lands and the strengthening of its economy and its stability after the years of destruction and devastation suffered by Iraq over the past years," he added.
"The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was afraid of the economic presence in Iraq because of the policy of previous governments that did not allow Iraq to open up on the Arab axis," noting that "former Prime Minister Haider Abadi announced the Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council, which was the first step in the beginning of the return of Iraqi relations Saudi Arabia's nature."

WOWZA!
I might have had a bit of a hangdog look this morning after first waking up, but after reading this my ears are perked up, and I'm wide-eyed and bushy-tailed!
Saudi Arabia teased this development a couple of weeks ago, Frank and teams have talked about it expansively (especially last night. Thanks, Frank!), and now IRAQ is confirming it:
Iraq is kicking Iran out of the treehouse, and Saudi Arabia is Iraq's new BFF!!
In my opinion, this is a huge development for the future of Iraq. Instead of being tied at the hip with the outlaw state of Iran (who are Shia like them), they have made a huge decision to unite with the Sunni Saudi's. This is monumental.
This is not only words, but ACTIONS to show they are desirous to join the world economy in a big way, and to become a valued member of the western economy. I'm sure they have been promised many rewards for making this step.
Incidentally, kudos to the US for being wise enough to push SA to take the place of Iran. It is one thing to tell Iraq to get rid of Iranian influence, but having someone waiting in the wings to fill the vacuum (and who aren't interested in sending death squads to their country and taking over their government through proxies) is quite another. This is getting good, kids!
