Foreign Minister meets with UN Commissioner in Geneva to discuss cooperation %d9%85%d8%ad%d9%85%d8%af%20%d8%b9%d9%84%d9%8a%201111111111%d8%a7%d9%84%d8%ad%d9%83%d9%8a%d9%85

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Ali al-Hakim, met with the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michel Bachelet, on the sidelines of the 40th regular session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, the two sides discussed enhancing cooperation between Iraq and the High Commission.

In a statement to the ministry, al-Hakim said that the government supports the work of the Commission in Iraq, while calling for the launch of projects to address the challenges from a comprehensive perspective that addresses all developmental, social and political dimensions.

The statement noted that Iraq calls on the Commission to give priority to the needs of developing countries and take into account the cultural specificity of the Arab and Islamic peoples.
