Economist Bassem Jameel Antoine described Sunday, the budget of 2019 as consumerism and meager, indicating that the only positive character of it reduced dependence on foreign loans.
"The 2019 budget was not properly built and relied heavily on oil, making it vulnerable to a high deficit with the first drop in oil prices," Antoine said.
He added that "the budget did not insure other than salaries and operating expenses and did not come to invest or raise the ratio," describing it as "very meager consumer."
He explained that "one of the pros and cons of the budget that it has reduced the rates of dependence on foreign loans to reduce the debt ceiling, which will raise the deficit for the coming years," noting that "Basra province was wronged in addition to other provinces with a budget of 2019."
