Minister of Agriculture: Agreement on the exchange of agricultural goods and flow across the borders of Iraq

Baghdad, Jan. 27 (Petra) - Minister of Agriculture and Environment Ibrahim Al-Shahaheda said during his meeting with his Iraqi counterpart Dr. Khaled al-Hassani in Baghdad today that they agreed with Iraq on increasing trade exchange and setting a timetable for the flow of agricultural commodities between the two countries. Commensurate with the production dates in both countries.
The two sides agreed that the shipment from the source to the final destination directly (door to door) after being unloaded at the border and the replacement of transport at the border post and this affects the costs and the potential damage to agricultural products and crops, especially in the summer.
He stressed the importance of sharing experiences in water harvesting, registration of safe agricultural pesticides and seed production, as well as meeting the standards required for the exchange of goods of animal origin, especially poultry products of meat, chicks and hatchery eggs.
