The Ministry of Communications announced on Saturday the launch of a project to issue birth certificates and death electronically through an electronic platform.

"The Ministry of Communications has launched a project to issue birth and death certificates electronically through a special electronic platform set up by experts in the ministry," said the senior agent for technical affairs at the Ministry of Communications Amir al-Bayati in a statement published by the official newspaper Al-Sabah.

Al-Bayati added that "the ministry went to implement the project to facilitate the issuance of transactions in service institutions and facilitate the achievement of citizens in coordination with health and ministries of education, interior and trade in addition to the Electoral Commission and the Supreme Judicial Council."

For his part, Assistant Director General of the Department of Planning and Resource Development in the Ministry of Health, Fadel Abbas, said that "the Ministry has started since the beginning of last year in coordination with the International Company for smart card (K-Card), the issuance of certificates of birth and death electronically and sent to the relevant departments.
