The US military has begun withdrawing equipment from Syria as part of the implementation of President Donald Trump's decision to withdraw from the country.
"I can take (transfer) the equipment from Syria. For security reasons, I will not give further details at the moment. "
The CNN channel earlier spoke about the withdrawal of the equipment in recent days. A US administration official familiar with the operation said the withdrawal of equipment was a sign of the start of the US withdrawal from Syria.
Foreign Minister Mike Pompeo reiterated Thursday that the US withdrawal from Syria would be a "diplomatic" effort to "expel the last Iranian soldier" from the country.
Earlier, White House national security adviser John Bolton confirmed during a visit to Israel that the US withdrawal from Syria must be done with "ensuring" the defense of the Allies.
There are currently about 2,000 US troops in Syria, which is witnessing a devastating civil war, most of which are training local forces battling a duel.
