The Executive Director of the ASE, Taha Ahmed Abdul Salam, revealed on Thursday the total trading in 2018, the latest of which was on Monday, December 24, 2018.
Abdul Salam said in a statement received "the economy News" a copy of it, "The stock market organized during the current year 238 sessions, five sessions a week," noting that "the number of companies listed in the market amounted to 104 Iraqi shareholding companies and the total capital of 11.956 trillion dinars" .
He added that "the number of shares traded during the year 2018 amounted to 832 billion shares, while the value of those shares 466 billion dinars," noting that "the number of contracts and transactions executed for the same year amounted to 91067 contract."
"The closing of the market index for the prices of shares traded was in the first session of 2018 at 577.84 points while in the last session of 2018 to 510.12 points," pointing out that "will be the first trading session for 2019 on Wednesday, 2 January 2019 ".
The stock exchange has used electronic trading systems and central depository since 2009 and seeks to launch an online trading system for investors. It organizes five weekly trading sessions from Sunday to Thursday. It includes 104 Iraqi shareholding companies representing banking, telecommunications, industry, agriculture, insurance, financial investment, tourism and hotels sectors.
