The Central Bank of Iraq (CBE) announced on Tuesday a ban on the appointment of a manager, his assistant or the shareholder of the withdrawn companies.

The bank said in a statement that the decision was made for the purpose of upgrading the sector of companies to mediate the sale and purchase of foreign currencies and ensure that they are managed by competent people in accordance with the provisions of the relevant laws, especially the law against money laundering and terrorism financing.

The statement added that the first case concerns companies that have been withdrawn due to violations of the bank's instructions or the AML / CFT law.

"The second case relates to those who were fired from office or sold shares under a directive issued by this bank.
