Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohammad Halboussi on Monday called on the United Nations to encourage investors to work in Iraq to promote economic reality.

"The Speaker of the House of Representatives received the representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Jan Kubic," the statement said.

The statement added that "the meeting discussed the overall political situation, including the support of the House of Representatives for the work of the government, and the need for cooperation of the political blocs, in order to provide real steps to improve the situation in the country, through the completion of the government cab and the end of the file management of state institutions by proxy.

Halaboussi stressed the need to commit political forces to the aspiration of the supreme religious authority by respecting the prime minister's choices by nominating suitable personalities to complete the government cab, and combining legislative and executive efforts to provide services to citizens in all fields. And the closure of the file of displacement through the provision of the potential for the return of displaced persons and reconstruction and stability in the liberated provinces and the implementation of national reconciliation and community.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives praised the efforts of the United Nations in Iraq in supporting the mechanisms and course of democracy in the country.
