Talabani expressed "Iraq's strong rejection of the sanctions imposed on Iran and the need to reach a settlement with the US side that the sanctions will affect Iraq."

And called for "the peaceful resolution of disputes and the exchange of visits between friends, an introduction to the Asian Association for its confidence in hosting Iraq to the next meeting of the Planning and Budget Committee in Baghdad in early 2019."
