Hassan Karim al-Kaabi, a member of the Presidency of the House of Representatives, approved the draft law on the right of access to information during the coming period of the work of the House of Representatives, stressing that the legislation of the law is a basic basis contributes to detect cases of corruption in the executive institutions and pressure to find appropriate treatments.

A dialogue session was held in the Constitutional Hall in the House of Representatives building a draft law on the right of access to information, implemented by the organization of the Tower of Babel and the International Media Support Organization and relevant bodies and institutions such as the Ministry of the Interior and the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, the Bar Association, the Human Rights Commission, the Iraqi Media Network, the Information and Communications Commission, Personalities and entities with competence and functions.

Mr. Al-Kaabi summarized the necessities of the legislation of the law during the next few years, considering that the people is the source of the existing authorities, as well as that access to information is an essential corner of democracy enjoyed by our new Iraq, pointing out that the adoption of the law contributes significantly to the control of the work of institutions and disclosure Cases of corruption.

Al-Kaabi pointed out that the meeting came to consolidate the previous efforts that are working towards the adoption of the law and the importance of cross-fertilization of ideas and benefit from views of the paragraphs of the proposed draft and to view the papers submitted by the institutions participating in the meeting, noting that the meeting yesterday will be followed by meetings and other meetings with the participation of parliamentary committees competent to support visions And to come out with appropriate and final formulas and recommendations, in accordance with international and humanitarian laws and standards that may be included in the law.
