The Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers stresses the need to develop and build capacity for advanced cadres in government institutions

The Secretary General of the Council of Ministers d. Mahdi Al-Alaq on the need to develop an evaluation report of the steps implemented for the pilot program for the purpose of identifying gaps and achievements to be an important basis for the implementation of federal decentralization in the provinces for the next phase, as well as to attach great importance to the development and capacity-building of advanced cadres in all government institutions.
This came during his meeting with the President of the Institute of Canadian Governance for Iraq Mr. Toby Fife in his office in Baghdad, in the presence of Mr. Steve Turney Executive Director of the Institute of Governance of Canada and Deputy Mr. Sylvan Deboa.
During the meeting, HE Al-Ameen handed over the agenda of the second meeting of the steering committee for the next pilot program held in Maysan governorate on 10 December.
This is the second visit to Iraq by a seven-day mission to discuss the latest developments of the Canadian Governance Institute in the provinces of Maysan and Diwaniyah and discuss the agenda of the second meeting of the steering committee of the pilot program (Federalism, Financial Decentralization and Capacity Building in Iraq) Pilot after 2020, pointing out his intention to carry out a field visit to the Kurdistan region and the Center of Excellence in the province of Karbala.
Terni pointed out the importance of empowering local governments in the provinces to perform their local tasks, especially financial management and land ownership in terms of the possibility of disposing of funds allocated to them in the implementation of projects, especially in the provinces of Diwaniyah and Maysan.
