Cabinet leaks: Abdul Mahdi seeks to change the map of security positions

Sources close to the negotiations for the formation of the cabinet cab of Prime Minister-designate Adel Abdul Mahdi said that a final agreement has been made to change the representation of the components in the main security centers, where it is expected to give the Ministry of Defense to the Shiite component and interior to the Sunni component, the most important change of its kind since the year 2006.

The Prime Minister-designate is headed to submit three proposed formations to his cabinet within 10 days for the leaders of the political blocs to swing one of them in order to present it to Parliament before the end of the constitutional term to form the new government.

The sources said that wide differences over the names of candidates for the ministries and the party party to which the nomination, may lead to the suspension of the names of ministers in the possible ministerial vote.

She pointed out that the agreement was held on the Kurdish component headed by army staff, and the position of Undersecretary of the Ministry of the Interior, to nominate the first Democratic Party of Kurdistan, and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan II.
