Central Bank Net Injects VND5 Trl via OMO in Sept. 26-29

The State Bank of Vietnam, the country’s central bank, net injected VND5 trillion into commercial banks through the open market operations from Sept 26 to Sept 29 to support liquidity in the banking system.

The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) net pumped VND5 trillion on the open market operations from Sept 26 to Sept 29 compared to VND4.01 trillion in the previous week, the local newswire NDHMoney reported, citing Reuters’ data. The net injection was for 14-day window, 14% interest rate per annum.

In September, the SBV net injected VND 27 trillion on OMO in which it pumped VND81.981 trillion and withdrew VND54.981 trillion.

SBV is expected to inject another VND1 trillion on Sept. 30, adding to the total net injection of VND28 trillion in September.

As many as VND27 trillion which was pumped in the week ending Sept. 23 will be due to be withdrawn next week, NDHMoney alerted.

The SBV is expected to keep on injecting liquidity to local banks with more than VND1-2 trillion per trading day during Oct. 3-7.
