Security Council to hold special session on the situation in Iraq
The representative of the Secretary-General provides a briefing

The United Nations Security Council is scheduled to hold a special session on the situation in Iraq at 10 am New York time (5 pm Baghdad time) on Wednesday (August 8th).
"UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan's Special Representative for Iraq, Jan Kubic, is expected to brief shortly after the start of the session," a statement from the United Nations Mission in Iraq (UNAMI) said.
The statement added that "the Special Representative will be briefed on developments in Iraq and the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI).
According to UNAMI, the Secretary-General's reports on the subject submitted to the Security Council can be found at: http://bit.ly/2eRK6nK
The session will be broadcast live at http://webtv.un.org and will be available immediately.
The text of the Special Representative's report will also be published on www.uniraq.org
