The United States has agreed to build a 3,000-megawatt power plant and export its production to Iraq, the Bloomberg news agency reported on Monday.

"Saudi Arabia has agreed to conclude an agreement with Iraq to build a power plant within 12 months, producing 3,000 megawatts, and exporting to Iraq a quarter of the value Iran imports," the agency said in a report.

"The agreement is awaiting the approval of the Iraqi government," the report said.
