Thousands of people in Baghdad and Baghdad took part in popular protests on Friday against the continued deterioration of the country's service and living conditions.

The security forces and riot control since Thursday evening in the provinces that are witnessing protests: Baghdad, Basra, Maysan, Dhi Qar, Diwaniyah, Muthanna, Karbala, Najaf and Babylon.

Protesters told Ashqaf News that the security forces prevented all media from covering the events of demonstrations in Tahrir Square in central Baghdad.

According to the protesters that the demonstrations witnessed an interaction with the sermon of the last reference to the Supreme Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, and appeared to have a clear impact as the number of demonstrators.

The central and southern governorates of Iraq have witnessed widespread protests over the past few days against the deterioration of the service and living conditions, the spread of financial and administrative corruption and the high rate of unemployment within the society, prompting the government to take a series of urgent measures to meet the demands of demonstrators.
