Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi revealed two days ago in a public speech that a number of Iraqi judges had received contacts from some corrupt officials to ascertain whether or not their names were present in the cases under investigation.
"Many candidates are suspected of corruption and accused of fraud and bribery while in administrative positions, but the judiciary has not yet decided on their files ," said political analyst and former parliamentarian Ibrahim al-Mutairi .
Al-Mutairi said that the lack of transparency in decision-making, poor accountability and lack of administrative vision, in addition to supporting the parties that belong to them in covering their files made nomination simple.
