Abadi Office: Disabling the adoption of the budget is irresponsible

A spokesman for Prime Minister Saad al-Hadithi's press office said on Thursday that disabling the adoption of the budget is irresponsible and will seriously harm the interests of the Iraqi people and hamper the work of state ministries.

Al-Hadithi said in a press statement that we call on the House of Representatives to assume its responsibilities in urging its members to speed up the vote on the budget law to enable ministries and state institutions to carry out their duties and provide services to citizens. Adding that the disruption of the adoption of the budget is irresponsible work and will inflict serious damage to the interests of the general Iraqi people and impede the work of state ministries.

"We express our deep regret over the repeated withdrawals aimed at disrupting the quorum and preventing the passing of the budget without paying attention to the consequences of the delay. We are aware of the seriousness of continuing to delay the adoption of the budget and its negative repercussions on the interests of the people, economy and services.
