Yea, I thought it was pretty cool.Need a bigger plow up here though. I have about 5 inches of fresh snow on the ground, with another 3-5 expected.

My Father and I used to go the railroad crossing about a mile from where we lived in Maine, on a snowy stormy night, and watch the railroad plow, with two GP-38 locomotives blow through a 10 foot plowed bank at 45 miles an hour, signals flashing and 5 chime 'Nathan' air horns sounding a warning- We'd stay back from the crossing about 150 feet, to avoid getting 'blasted'- It was a total 'white out' for about 2 minutes-I always thought it was awesome to see something like that-

Excellent, Kevind, now That's the stuff! That woman that was commentating on the first set of videos took a 'powder,'didn't she? Great videos, Amtrak blasting through snowbanks at crossings, and it doesn't get any better than that!! Locomotives cruising right along, 'til they got stuck, and couldn't even back away from the snow, they were stuck pretty bad!! Thanks again, GREAT videos!!! I love it! :RTET: :yes:

Yep, I kinda miss seeing the plow trains during a snowstorm, or blizzard, but not the cold-When I was a kid, I didn't care, but they can have it now, I have had enough, I lived up there most of my life, and figure I have served my time- :sefea:

Cold? well let me tell you what cold is, why back in '03 it was so cold on the Slope that one had to build a fire (not an easy thing since no trees grow there) to thaw out our words. Shoot then youhad to have an interpreter to defuse the syllables! Mercy it was cold, and then to top it all off it was windy (about like this post). Yup, definitely cold, Terbo. Hee hee, just a little Alaska humor - right now it is +27F and clear.
