Alsumaria News / Baghdad An
informed source said Saturday that the presidency of the parliament will send an invitation to President Fuad Masum and Prime Minister Haider Abadi to attend today's session to discuss the referendum. The source said in an interview for Alsumaria News, "The Presidency of the Parliament will send an invitation to the President of the Republic Fuad Masum and ministers Haider Abadi to attend today's session to discuss the referendum." The source, who asked not to be named, said that "if they can not attend today's session, it will turn into a special session tomorrow to discuss it."
On September 12, 2017, the House of Representatives voted to reject the referendum in the Kurdistan region , while Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi called for all measures to preserve Iraq's unity .
