A UN envoy who is pledging sustainable peace in Iraq to a national settlement

confirmed the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq , Jan Kubis, on Friday, that it can not ensure a sustainable peace in Iraq without a national settlement and reconciliation community.
"The liberation of Mosul should not hide the fact that the road is still difficult for the Iraqis," he said in a statement reported by Sky News. "The country has been subjected to terrorist bombings so far."
"Only through comprehensive solutions that address the grievances of the Iraqi people, meet their needs and aspirations, can sustainable peace be assured, and national reconciliation and social reconciliation are the two indispensable avenues for a broader, broader effort towards long-term unity, stability and prosperity."
He urged Iraqis to take all possible steps to benefit from military victories against terrorists and to ensure a conflict-free future for their families.
"On Eid al-Adha, celebrated by Muslims all over the world, the people of Iraq who have sacrificed so much deserve to live in peace, dignity and prosperity," he said.
