Iraq prepares to fight in the desert

A meeting of the National Security Council was held on Sunday under the chairmanship of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Haider al-Abadi, a meeting of the National Security Council was held to train the Iraqi forces to fight a hasty organization in the desert areas.

"The council discussed the conduct of the battle to liberate Mosul within the operations of Nineveh and the approaching of our forces to liberate the entire right side," a statement from the office of Abadi Ward told Asharq Al-Awsat.

As was "discuss the development of the capabilities of our forces at the checkpoints, especially the main points in Baghdad and reduce the traffic momentum in addition to strengthening the intelligence effort."

The council also discussed "training counter-terrorism forces to combat terrorist groups in desert areas," the statement said.

The statement pointed to the approval of the Council "to form a committee on Security Council resolution 2341 of 2017 on the protection of vital goals."

My prediction is that after Mosul is liberated, there eill be more laws that need to be implemented pre RV.

The Oil & Gas Law, the Amnesty Law, and most importantly the Reconciliation Law, among others.

It will take a long time for Iraq to come together from three separate factions to one country.  Loads of negotiations needed, and I would not be surprised to see nothing happen until after the next election
