Finance Committee in the Iraqi Council of Representatives revealed, for the deduction of 4.8% of the salaries of employees and retirees in the draft financial budget bill for 2017 without knowing the fate of the funds withheld and how it was spent.

A member of the Finance Committee in Parliament MP Masood Haider in a press statement, said that "the financial budget for 2017 sent by the government to the House of Representatives included deductions from the salaries of employees and retirees."

"The cuts were in the budget of 2016 is 3% of salary, either in the budget of 2017, bringing to 4.8% deduction from employees and retirees."

He said that "according to paragraph 3% deduction that goes to the popular crowd and displaced, either 1.8% of the deduction added to other expenses," pointing out that "we in the Finance Committee and the Parliament do not know where the money goes 1.8% withheld."
