Guru Nighthk11: I have confirmed that lower denoms in a new batch left the UK some days ago and were delivered to Iraq. I have it upon good advice that Maliki and others of the MOF and CBI have recently been on Iraqi tv once again explaining the “New Dinar” and informing the people to turn all large bills that bear three zeros except the 1000 denominations- they have indicated that the value will rise. there is some movement within the GOI to inform businesses and vendors to “Accept the lower denoms out now in 1000-500-250 denoms.

The small denoms in the following figures were delivered to Iraq 3 months ago- 1/4- 1/2-1 dinar-5 dinar-10 dinar either 20 or 25 dinar notes- 100 dinar- these are already inside the banking institutions.

Remember that re-basing inside Iraq does not equate to international rate.

Guru Bondlady: when saddam was in power he went on a printing money spree and raised his own exchange rate. so when saddam was over thrown by us we had to give the iraqis a new currency where saddams face wasnt on it. so thus creating the new iraqi dinar we hold now. 25,000, 10,000, 5000,500,250 and 50. there was no need to have any currency lower than that because the paper it was printed on was a whole lot more expensive that the note itself, which a 1 wasnt nt even a penny i dont think.

what do u think they gonna think or how would they act being given a 1 5 10 or 25 or a 100 iqd note. it would be a civil war over this currency if they did not rv at the same time or before. they said the 25 iqd would be like the 25,000 iqd. tellin them just because it was small didnt mean it wasnt big in spending.

Guru AlreadyBlessed: KME verified intel with his own intel..... From what he is hearing and has surmised, we look good for late Monday night, start making cash-in appointments on Tuesday..... 3.87 is the rate. He did also add that NO ONE SHOULD GO OUT AND BUY UP RESERVES BASED ON THIS INTEL

Guru SteveI: (Ray) My contact finally got back home and I was able to talk to him this morning. I gave him a shopping list of things I wanted him to call his contact about in Iraq to find out for us. He was going to call him but due to the time difference, I probably won’t have any answers until tomorrow morning. One thing he did tell me was that he saw on Iraqi TV this morning that the government is asking all it’s citizens to bring in their damaged dinar and exchange for dinar that isn’t damaged so they can later exchange that for the new currency post rv. I was told this had something to do with some religious thing about the damaged currency. I’m not totally sure but really is interesting about trading it in for undamaged dinar so they can exchange that for the new currency. Will hopefully have more tomorrow.

Bank Story: I just returned from my local *** Bank in ******* ** to complete a dinar purchase. I was surprised to find out that I would be receiving my order completely in 250 notes.

I inquired as to when these new notes began being shipped to the branch, and was informed that as of last Friday (18 March) that all dinar orders shipped from their international currency branch are being filled in these new, bound, un-circulated 250 notes.

I was also told (and take this for what it’s worth from a bank employee) that the larger notes are being phased out and that these new 250 notes will “co-exist” with the larger ones. The teller was also kind enough to show me a bound stack of the new 250 notes. My last order from this branch was about 14 days ago, and I received the entire order in 25000 notes.
