As we were sitting around having our daily dinar talk over coffee here in Iraq and one guy mentioned that fridays mideast edition of the military newspaper stars and stripes has "dinar" as the answer to the clue "gulf money" in the crossword puzzle. could be a clue that the gcc will use the dinar as thier base currency.

Guru Nighthk11: so there is a lot that has happened in the last 24 hiours-the next few should tell us if in fact the dinar will rv here and we can cash in next week

SeanT (bank story): I just texted my two friends who works at 2 different banks here in southern California and asking them to confirm if their banks are open on Monday. Then they bothe confirmed they are going to be open for the first time on a national holiday. And when I asked if they know the reason behind their responses was, "no idea". I hope is something related to all the recent RV rumors that we re ready to cash out on Monday! My first post just passing along this personal info from friends working at. Chase and WF.

(rumor): TIDBIT: This is the 2nd email from a site member I’ve receive to this effect today. It appears this is confirmation and legitimate. No entry into Iraq for at least the next 72 hours. -I have written you before, but only when I have news. I work in Iraq as a govt contractor. i am home in the states on leave and I am supposed to fly back to the Middle East tomorrow. My friend called me and said they announced at my base that the Iraqi Govt is denying any entrance visas into Iraq for at least the next 72 hours. this is a very unusal circumstance. I will now be stuck in Dubai when I arrive until the restriction is lifted. We can only hope it is because the RV is about to take place??

Guru ButchB: I stated last week , that the rate was set wensday , (which would be two wensdays ago , now) , and that we should see an RV within 72hrs , If not , it would be pushed back by 1wk…that 72hr window closed this past sunday night !

So , that moved the window to this next sunday …(2/20/11) !Hows that for a date…we should hear some diffinative news by sunday….Not to mention , all of the ppl on PD , who are also saying , by sunday!!! We should see something , in CONCRETE , for the RV , on sunday (2/20/11) cash-in shortly after…RATE was stated to be 5+ on the bank side , and , 6+ on the CBI side !!!!

Umm ... for starters, Monday is NOT a bank holiday. LAST Monday was a bank Holiday, and yes Virginia, the banks were closed.
