Can Iraq actually "RV" anyway?

Well can they? It seems a lot of folks think they still can in spite of the enormous money supply so let's compare a few items and see if this is somehow possible after all!


Using the low M0 figures, actually the M3 of over 91 Trillion would need to be backed but let's assume here that they needed to back ONLY the currency actually in circulation. That would mean that Iraq has 5,917 Billion (59.197 Trillion) Dinars in circulation as of August 2015,

 of which slightly over 40 Trillion are in physical cash (from another source -Forbes).

Let's look a bit closer at that 40 Trillion figure for the physical cash, the actual paper that people carry around in Iraq and have stashed under their beds here. An actual LICENSED (as opposed to the gurus) Personal Finance Advisor from Forbes John Wasick tells us,

Shocking on the very surface of it and while some might want to argue those figures it matters not because the 40 Trillion is a known and audited fact and we also know there many pallet loads of fresh shrink wrapped 25,000 Dinar notes, literally truck loads of the things, sold here in the U.S alone and pictures of these huge stacks of brand new notes have been around for several years from the dealers themselves!


Now let's compare Iraqi money circulation figures to the U.S. Dollar,

59+ Trillion total and over 40 Trillion actual physical for Iraq but what about the U.S.? Straight from the horse's mouth the FED says "

Ok now let's see then using Iraq's low figure at a 1 to 1 "RV" they would have well over 30 times as much money (in Dollar value) than the USA! Does anyone see a problem developing? Well it gets better, or worse depending on the angle one sees it, with 5 Trillion Dinars in Iraq and speculators holding 35 Trillion what is Iraq going to do even if the "RV" is somehow possible? Will they pay out 35 TRILLION Dollars to speculators (which also happens to be more Dollars than actually exist!) and keep 5 Trillion for themselves? Ok, that figure is not official so let's say it's waaaaaaay off and Iraq has 20 Trillion and speculators hold the other 20 Trillion, Iraq is willing to split it's wealth 50-50 maybe?


How can such a huge difference between the two currencies exist making these figures possible? Easy, you can get One Thousand One Hundred and Sixty Six Dinars for each Dollar!  

How about that figure was somehow accidentally listed backward and Iraq has 35 Trillion while speculators hold ONLY 5 Trillion (over three times the amount of physical Dollars in circulation, 1.34 -per the FED !) and Iraq keeps the 35 Trillion? Sounds more reasonable? Well maybe until we consider that Iraq now owes speculators 5 TRILLION Dollars or more that three times as many physical Dollars as are currently in existence and Iraq would be keeping a net worth of nearly the collective wealth of the entire world!



This is why that enormous money supply is so important but still everyone seems to ignore it and they want to talk about "decreasing the note count" "lower denoms" and other such nonsense while ignoring the most, by FAR the most, important detail affecting the Dinar value, WHY?????

The value of the Dinar went down because of the money supply going up due to massive inflation and over printing in the years leading up the war (it was NOT artificially lowered at the start of the war by the coalition as the lying gurus said it was!). The gurus have people believing that now Iraq can just reverse that value decline by "RVing" without also reversing that exploded money supply but that's not possible! They can't just UN-spend all that money they overspent and reverse the exchange value without also reversing what caused it to fall in the first place, one is irrevocably tied to the other, it's impossible for it not to be.


Come on people, if you are going to continue to insist this is still somehow possible then let's talk about it, ignoring it and hiding from it won't make it go away!  Why not discuss this thing and let's see if we can find away around this huge problem, come on let's talk!!!!!

The effects of PAST inflation from years ago, not current inflation which has been under control for some time now! What you are showing there only means it's not getting any worse, it does NOT somehow magically erase the damage from the past! That's what redenomination, deleting the zeros, LOP, or whatever you choose to call it is for!

Iraq has runaway inflation years ago and it was THAT damage that's the problem, not the inflation rate today!


Whenever any country get's into that inflationary mess they fix the damage AFTER the problem of inflation is fixed not while it's still going on, that wouldn't accomplish anything. AFTER inflation has been brought under control steps are then taken to repair the damage and that's exactly Iraq's situation and exactly what they have been telling the world they intend to do!

Not sure what you are asking for proof of but your chart shows proof that Iraq does indeed (as of right now anyway) have inflation under control. Good point let's discuss that one,

Due to that past inflation Iraq currently has well over 30 times the amount of Dinars as  the USA has Dollars, USA =1.34 Trillion Dollars, Iraq =40 Trillion Dinars (using the lowest number, actually it would closer to 50+Trillion!). So how can a little country like Iraq have 30 times as many units of currency as the wealthiest country in the world (wealth as in GDP)? Easy because each of Iraq's units of currency are worth over 1000 times less than the Dollar so that makes having 30 times more of them plausible, and also puts Iraq's wealth right about where it should be.

Now if Iraq were to "RV" to equal the Dollar wile still maintaining that 30 times unit margin, overnight or over months makes no difference, that would mean that now Iraq would have a current wealth of 30 times the wealth of the USA and about equal to the rest of the world combined, think about the impracticality of such a thing. As far fetched as all that may sound, that's what a person is insisting is going to happen when they insist the "RV" can really happen


Now if they "LOP" "delete zeros" as they clearly say they intend to do eventually then that huge money supply problem is erased, they issue an all new currency at the new rate with a MUCH lower number in circulation, with the new value they don't need (and certainly don't want) as many notes in circulation. Then the old currency, still at the old rate and representing the old money supply, is exchanged for the new at the same rate the new increased, in Iraq's case that's 1000 times more valuable per Dinar BUT the old still at the old value must exchange at 1000 old for one new. THAT'S how revaluations are done, it's been done over 60 times in different countries in the last 80 or so years and is EXACTLY what Iraq has been saying they intend to do, even giving other countries (most notably Turkey) as examples.

Well of course it raises the value, but for the NEW not the old Dinar, that's the reason for doing it, more value but fewer in circulation and they have clearly explained that many times that it exchanges 1000 old for one new. Just in the last couple of days there was an article about the new 50,000 note that also talks of deleting the zeros and it plainly says "1000 old Dinar becomes 1 new Dinar". Also you have to know that Iraq absolutely would never show it's hand and alert speculators ahead of time by telling the world they intend to increase the value of the current Dinar! Remember what Dr Shabibi said in that video when someone asked about increasing the rate? Not only did Shabibi sayl plainly that he wouldn't tell him even if he knew but the crowd actually laughed at the man for asking such a thing!

CLEARLY they are not talking about the Dinar currently in use, they would never say that in public, and are referring to the new value of the new currency without the zeros


And yes Turkey is extremely important to compare because not only is it a recent example of how revaluations work Iraq has MANY TIMES in the past used Turkey as an example of how they intend to do this! If What Turkey did is not important to what Iraq intends to do why would they give them as an example??????

Yes GypZ, you're right BUT the value is on the NEW currency not the old! Let me ask you this, do you think Iraq can just declare by "RV" that they have more money than all the rest of the countries in the world combined? Does that even remotely make any sense? Yes GypZ but look at Jordan's reserves and money supply! This only proves what I have been saying all along, Jordan has a money supply of only a little over 10 BILLION Dollars M1 Compared to Iraq's nearly 68 TRILLION M1!!!!

Money supply divided by reserves = unit value, in Iraq's case their money supply is slightly over 1000 times higher than their reserves, about 60+ BILLION to back nearly 68 TRILLION in M1 which works out to guess what??? About 1166 to one!


Now look at Jordan, they have a bit over ten BILLION to back and they have in their reserves just a tad under 14 BILLION Dollars to back that 10 Billion with, so that works out to around 1.40 and guess what Jordan's current Dinar is worth? $1.41!

Down near the bottom of the page you will find the Jordanian Dinar is today worth $1.406 U.S. Dollars!

It's all about that money supply and their reserves! Jordan has more Dollars in their reserves than Dinars in circulation while Iraq has over 1000 times more Dinars than they have Dollars to back them with!


The bottom line is Jordan's Dinar is worth a $1.41 but that puts THEIR wealth at only a bit less than 14 BILLION Dollars which is very little compared to the world's wealth while making Iraq's Dinar only $1 would make THEIR wealth more than all the world's wealth combined!

Can't you see the problem there? Look at your own research and do some math, it's easy to see how Jordan can have a Dinar worth $1.41 while Iraq's must remain at a fraction of a cent, Iraq has THOUSANDS of times more Dinars in circulation to back than does Jordan.

Something else to think about, the thinking behind the "RV" is that Iraq can just magically put the Dinar back to to where it once was at $3+ but let's look at what that enormous money supply has also changed besides the value, did anyone walk around with a wallet full of bills worth $75,000 U.S. back then? Think about that! Everyday Iraqis would have notes in their wallets worth $5,000, $10,000, $25,000 EACH and soon they would have SINGLE NOTES worth $50,000 EACH IN THEIR WALLETS! What country on Earth has ever had currency worth even a tiny fraction of that FOR A SINGLE NOTE EACH?

The total absurdity here just becomes more clear as the situation is examined, just as the Jordan example above shows a country the size of Iraq can have 1 to 1 with the Dollar if their currency supply is in the Billions like Jordan, Kuwait, etc but certainly not if it's MANY TRILLIONS such as Iraq has. That all important money supply is the deal breaker yet few it seems will look at it for what it is?

Iraqi citizens are burdened with having to carry around huge stacks of notes to use in everyday transactions so Iraq issued the new 50,000 to make it easier to make purchases without having to use so many notes, that's the reason it was issued!

Also when they "drop the zeros" you will have to trade your old notes for the new ones so what do you gain?

That's all this is and ever has been about, the LIES were very profitable and continue to be despite the obvious truth to the contrary, why people continue to buy into this PROVEN to be scam is beyond me!

I already sold a few of mine, and IF nothing comes our way by the first of the year, the rest will disappear as well- I'll probably regret it, but, oh well, them's the breaks-There won't be a 'next' time-

That, for both of you, is what I call the "what if?" syndrome! It's only human nature and nothing to be ashamed of, illogical or not, because it's a very strong feeling much more related to fear than greed or the desire to be wealthy. That almost overwhelming fear of,

"what if it actually did happen and I didn't have any, how would I feel?",

has gotten more people to buy into and keep hanging on than any lie the gurus ever told!

Then when that's combined with folks hanging on and truly believing only to face the shock of seeing the dream shattered it becomes just too much to bear so they get defensive and angry when faced with the undeniable truth. It would be little different than thinking for a long time that you had a winning lottery ticket only to find out after making plans that it wasn't a winner after all, the pain and disappointment would be a terrible thing to have to endure. It takes a lot of strength to admit that the "what if" question is simply illogical and just as meaningless as asking "what if the tooth fairy is real and I don't put a tooth under my pillow"?

Please understand, I AM NOT MAKING FUN! I did not use the "tooth fairy" comparison in jest, far from it, I use it as an example of just how illogical it is to ask "what if" about the so-called "RV" when the odds of either being true are about the same!

This very thing is why I despise this evil scam and the despicable scum who perpetuate it! This is why I do what I do, not to make fun of or belittle people but rather to try in my own small way to stop some of this needless disappointment and despair!

BUT, YOU LEFT OUT A IMPORTANT ASPECT!WHY THEN DID THE USA GOVERNMENT ALLOW AMERICAN PEOPLE THE OPPORTUNITY TO BUY THE CURRENCY?W...WERE THEY NOT PERPETUATING THE DREAM BY MAKING IT LEGAL? SHOULD THEY NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE IN ANY WAY? THIS IS SOMETHING THAT HAS CROSSED MY MIND..WHY ? ALLOW THE PEOPLE TO BUY WHY ALLOW THE DEALERS TO SELL IT? IN THE FIRST PLACE ??

Anyway, the Government didn't do ANYTHING one way or the other to make the Dinar legal for people to buy, it simply wasn't illegal in the first place! It's no different than owning the currency of any other country that's not under sanctions making possession of their currency illegal.

No one "Made it legal" it just wasn't illegal to start with so the Government would not in any way be liable.

No, not sucker, "victim" would be much more appropriate given the elaborate nature of the rumor based scam in the beginning before the truth was brought out.

Let me expand a bit on the reason that the term "sucker" is not appropriate here, and by far in most cases it definitely is not! A person is a "sucker" for falling for something like a rigged carnival game, buying a phony expensive watch from a street conman, etc, in other words falling for a sales pitch from a con artist who knew full well he/she was lying and the deal was fake. Well isn't that what Dinar holders did? Well not exactly, for the vast majority anyway, by far most were sold on this thing by people who truly believed they were helping someone get into a good deal and simply wanted to share the opportunity, there is a world of difference there! Even the scamming gurus only indirectly contributed to people getting involved because almost all were already involved before seeking out the gurus, the gurus claim to shame lies in the fact they kept people hanging on and buying more after they were already in so deep they were afraid not to!


The bottom line is a "sucker" falls for a carnival barker while a "victim" is taken in by something that actually looks plausible at first and is presented to them by honest people who have no intentions of cheating them, that is nothing to be ashamed of and does not mean the person is a "sucker" or any other derogatory term, they were simply "victims".
