It is a beautiful day here in the Sunshine State, temps in the mid 70's, low humidity, and the sun is out making it's statement for an upcoming great day-Hope the weather is great where everyone lives today-Enjoy your weekend!!!

I am trying to get outside as much as possible before it really drops and the snow flies.  Once that white stuff starts falling, I only go out when I have to.  Terbo, I am going to have to bunk with you guys over the winter.  I hate being cold!

Debbi and I have thought about it, but we are mountain folk born and bred, plus God's called us here. I'm still working on the leaves, small electric blower is ready to go, as is the shovel. Just picked up a 26' 8HP blower I am in the process of tearing down and rebuilding. Took me a week or so researching on line to find a manual for the old girl.

I got faith in you,KevinD, you'll get it str8 10nd out,no worries-By the way, you could always find a small rental down here for the winter, and be snowbirds, right? The winters down here are like cool summers, trust me, you both would love it-I have not ever worn a windbreaker or parka, let alone a jacket, since I've been down here- I know it sounds crazy, but it is the truth-

Yea I know I have family in the Brandon area, and up around Tallahassee. Plus friends who winter down there. I do enjoy a visit, but in all honesty, by the time I have been there a couple of weeks I long for the mountains. Maybe NC someday, Deb's family is from there originally and there are still a lot of kinfolk in the hills.

Maybe one of these freezing long winters, you might have a change of heart- I came down here mainly because my bones got so I couldn't stand the cold winter ass kickings like I could when I was a lot younger, and arthritis setting in didn't help matters any, either-There are plenty of things to do, and places to go here,seasonal tourist railroads, Disney, miniature golf is all over the place,high speed go-cart tracks,Daytona International Speedway, which is about 56 miles from us, wine tasting speakeasies, classic car shows every weekend some places, others once a month, very good restaurants, pubs, sports bars, flea markets, etc, you name it, it is here somewhere-Kissimmee is a blast!

MY wife's father grew up in Kissimmee when it was just truck farms and swamp land. Too bad the family didn't hold on to that land for a while.

Look at what that land would be worth now-

Not to mention the Xerox stock my dad passed on in the late 50's, the Coke stock my Grandfather in Law passed on in the 20's or 30's, and the land her grandfather sold to the US for Fort Benning Annex during WWII for pennies on the dollar because his country needed it. I'll bet most of us have stories like that -- if only foresight was as good as hindsight....

You damn sure got that right-Just like the old addage, 'If I knew then what I know now'- Strange how that always ends up that way, but how would anyone know what the future would bring? They wouldn't-

Well I am about 3 days too late for this thread but can I just say as someone who lives in searing bloody heat in summer I would live in the snow anyday! Our winter we just had I didnt even get to wear a jumper! Where I live we are feeling somewhat ripped off lol!
