Another WF Bank Story

I know, I know, not another WF Bank story, but, up here north of sixty we have no banks selling IQD. We have only one national bank Wells Fargo, the rest are in state only with one small exception Key Bank, which I thinkis only in about 3-5 states.

But Alaskans have purchased the majority of our IQD from dealers, for me all of of what I have. I suppose some ventured to america and picked some up in their travels, but for the most part thru DT, DB, ect....

But the DONG is another story, Wells does handle it up here and our good friend G-Man mentiond he ordered some this past few months and received it promptly. My wife and another investor where chatting yesterday about how folks down south were saying it was getting harder to get the DONG, and they decided to go order some or attempt to.

My wife was at Wells on other business and asked the teller who handled foreign currency in the branch, she pointed to what my wife discibed as "the youngest looking person in the bank", not that age matters as the young tend to be faster on the computer than say folks my age. But the young lady was having trouble getting the computer fired up and online to the forex area and she made two trips to the asst managers office, then four trips to the managers off brofe my wife to ask any questions. Finaly the first teller came over and got it up and running.

So now to business, My wife asked about the Dong, Yes the bank could order her some, how much ect.... My wife ordered 10mil dong, no pay when they arive in a couple of days, My wife so my Tuesday due to hoilday, yes come back Tuesday but we will call you also. Very slow process as the young lady look everything up, wanting to get it right.

With that done, my wife asked about the IQD, what a change. Instantly, "NO Wellsfarge does not and will not handle the IQD, because they do not deal with Terrorist Countries and the US says that Iraq is a terrorist country." All without looking anything up, off the top of her head.

So I guess the moral of the story is Wells Fargo has beat the "LINE" of no never into local's heads that they have it by rote now, and we shall see if and when a few dong come in. But if and when they do, I'll let you fine folks know.

Well, my biggest tax bill is from DC.

NO, state or local income tax, no state sales tax, low, (in most places where you would want to live) or no property taxes

Well,

The DONG came in today Thursday. It took 3-4 working days. My wife ordered another 10 mil on Tuesday, they say should be here by Friday, again another 3-4 working days.

Cost was $57.85 per million, payable at time of pickup.

The other 10mil in DONG came in, my wife just got call to come and pickup.

So at least here in Alaska Wells fargo is still getting and selling DONG with no hang ups or delays.

Wells does sell different size notes, from (I think) 1,000 to the 500k we purchased, just tell them what you want.
