A good day out in the open air is an integral part of a happy childhood. This usually goes hand in hand with jumping in the muddiest puddles you can find, getting up to lots of trouble with your friends, getting plenty of grazes and cuts, and ruining your clothes. Yet such adventures are equally beneficial to parents — learning to relax despite what the kids get up to can help immensely to improve your sense of humour and worldview.
