I think a lot of them aren't stupid at all, because they aren't even real! Tony has been caught using fake followers in the past and while we don't know if that one is real or not (probably is however) these pumpers often use fake posters/callers when they need to get a message out. Think about it, if Tony or any of those goof-balls needed to talk about Zim or maybe Dong and no one was bringing it up then they use a fake personality to ask about whatever it is they need to pump at the time. They basically are simply asking themselves questions tailored to the message (sales pitch or whatever) that they want to put out there, simply pumping disguised to appear as an answer to a question.
