Ban Ki-moon arrives in Kuwait for Third aid-pledging conf.
KUWAIT - UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon arrived in Kuwait on Monday to participate in the Third International Pledging Humanitarian Conference, due tomorrow.
Ban was received at the airport by Amiri Diwan Advisor, UN Secretary General envoy for Humanitarian Affairs and president of the International Islamic Charitable Organizations (IICO), Dr. Abdullah Al-Maatouq.
Earlier today, 30 non-governmental organizations (NGOs) have pledged USD 506 million to provide humanitarian aid for the Syrian people, inside the country and in neighboring nations, exceeding pledges made in their meeting in Kuwait last year.
Ban was in Baghdad earlier in the day, where he welcomed the Iraqi forces' progress in the face of ISIL militants in the northern city of Tikrit.

I am sure some gurus will try and make something out of Ban Ki-moon's visit, but in the context of any possible rate change to the dinar it is meaningless.
