I have had several exchanges of info with my friend in the sandbox in the last few days and one word sums up the state of being of Iraq : KAOS !!

Insurgents have launched a massive blitzkrieg capturing several central & northern cities. They are even threatening (at this very hour) some outskirts of Baghdad. It is being estimated that 600,000 refugees have been displaced because of this sad development. Many of them are taking house in the kurdistan region.

The Shiite-Sunni bloodbath and anger is boiling over once again.

just a few days ago I was reporting of a (rumored) headwind by Maliki in proclaiming himself PM again.

After this lightning development (since the weekend) M now finds his army deserting in retreat. He's desperate to unify the army into a counter offensive as even the government (which anyway is in limbo) may topple.

GREAT UNCERTAINTY has emerged in this crisis.

All I can say about the Dinar and it's reform is for the immediate term---FORGET IT !! I had predicted already June as a wash and with July being tied to both Ramadan and the addressing to the spectacle just now created , it is my opinion that Dinar reform is now months away, if not a wash for the rest of 2014.

So sad to see Iraq take a few steps of progress (as they had achieved ) then suddenly the basic core & existence of a nation is in jeopardy. And of course most sad of all is the human suffering, especially by the very old & children.

All I can say to fellow intel providers. otherwise known as "gurus" is that in the days & weeks ahead I'm sure many will use these circumstances as a compelling reason to promote the imminent RV and I must say ahead of time : you'll look like a complete fool BUT (more importantly) the sheeple that BUY into that are certain of the "biggest fool award". Current conditions are KAOS !

Iraq certainly has lots of wealth and may someday have a gain in their rate. What is true is that they have had a "reality rate" and at 1166 or thereabout they have managed to not only make it but have had years of growth.

No one knows the date or rate of the next adjustment but probabilities, current news, market & political indicators all weigh into an "inviting opportunity". But in my sincere opinion, these violent uprisings is a recipe for disaster.

UNCERTAINTY is the enemy of economic and market stability. Even if Iraq introduced their currency internationally, at this time, it would plummet like a rock.

Americans sacrificed thousands of lives, physical & emotional scars by so many families. A TRILLION DOLLARS SPENT. So naturally this is quite a letdown for our efforts.

We wish the Iraqi people an end to suffering and a return to simple necessities at the very least.

I guarantee you TD did not copy any goat caca ... Before you criticize I suggest you go back and read TD's posts. He has been very consistent in stating "At best, not gonna happen for a while" and as he stated in his least not to us he very clearly that nothing was likely to happen in June. Personally, I appreciate his no nonsense, no BS posts, as does Ponee, which is why he is the only "intel provider" allowed to post here.

A bit of whimsical trivia here to lighten the bad news about Iraq and the apparently indefinately postponed RV of the dinar. The villanous terrorist group in the TV show "Get Smart" was called K.A.O.S. The word you mean is Chaos.

Well it is being widely reported over here and it's not good news for Iraq. I have said for years it's not going to Rv so this comes as no surprise to me. I watched a man that specialises in Iraq and the war over there and he can't see this conflict ending anytime soon, he said he could go on for another 10 years! For the first time ever my hubby is now thinking of selling back our dinar and cutting our losses!

Yes well I guess we're going to have to change the name of this site again...DinarYearly...S.O.B.

I look at this 2 ways....

1. Iraq is a country that is always going to be in termoil. The people that say once things calm down it will RV...well your going to be waiting a VERY long time. They go from one crappy government/dictator to another...throw in a civil war every once in a while...and unfortunately it's always going to be that way IMO. Waiting for a stable Iraq is like waiting for  

2. The other people that say that the RV will cause it to calm down...I think that's crazy too. The majority of terrorists aren't worried about money...this is a religious idealistic quest to them. Iraq could potentially one of the richest countries in terms of natural resources...but the average jihadist could give 2 shits about it. 


I really hope the RV happens soon...but I dont see it happening anytime soon at all.

I don't see it happening at all! BUT I am wondering about the Dong? I mean the Dong is already an internationally traded currency and they could improve their money a lot easier couldn't they? Maybe we change this to Dong Daily??

First of all Kevin, what are we really talking about here. Are we talking about a revalue of the world currencies or just iraq ? When I first learned of this whole RV/GCR idea, I had no interest in the Dinar. I said then and will say now, due to the ongoing, never ending conflict that will forever be of issue in Iraq, that I had no interest in anything to do with it.

Further, most if not all have listened to TWO main news outlets. One being the mainstream media news and the other the Guru news. Neither of which is in any way accurate. They are both very misleading and both used for agenda's we refuse to accept or admit.

Nonetheless, anyone who believes that Iraq alone and their forever problems would be or could be the end of some sort of currency reform of 188 other countries worldwide is out of their mind. Period, end of story !

So I take it the Dong is out also.....

No,  that is not what I said. Lets look at it this way. First the dinar is not a publically traded currency. Now lets look at thr others. So, you can buy many of tham at any airport, bank, or online at places like travelex. Of course you will still pay a fee for the transaction, but that is true for even a bank.

The Dinar as you know is not a traded currency, so you must purchasse through the currency brokers who are using the Guru pool to push it. The Gurus are the sales force for the brokers. The guru's spew all of the misleading information and with their powerful skill's are moving huge dollars through the brokers.

Looking at economics and a touch of reality, the worlds leaders, the IMF, world Bank and others are fully aware of the potential issue's that can arrise out of Iraq at any moment of any day. Then add the political problems that will never cease coupled with the mentality of the Iraq itself. Yes Iraq is possibly from a resourse look, may very well be the or one of the waelthiest countries in the world, however, there are many more countries out there with substantial wealth and untouched resourses. he US and Canada have vast oil reserves. The US will not touch them or allow for the exploration of them. However, we actually could become with Canada or even ourselves the largest expoters in the world.

This entire post could go on forever if you really wanted to get into the subject. Simply put, One country such as Iraq cab not stop the world RV. Iraq can come along later. Iraq is only one country in a very troubled basket of middle eastern countries that will never be at rest or peace. That dream, just won't happen.

There is a litany of other currencies that will participate, and that would include the Dong.  Each of us must draw our own conclution, however basic world economic will demonstrate the realities of the misinformation being given to the public through the channels of the media and the guru's.

Actually British Bulldogs assesment is right on target. I am just going one step further in that I am saying Iraq will not be a cause of the GCR stopping. I am saying, if there truly is a GCR, it will move forward with or without Iraq.

I have to disagree, mostly because I have never bought into the whole world wide RV scenario. First, most, if not all of the proponents have based their arguments on a Basil III requirement that all currencies be physical asset based. One problem, There is no such requirement in the Basil III agreement. Nor does it apply to central banks, or compulsory in any way. It is in reality a list of recommendations regarding how -large banks count their assets. That's all.

Second, it just makes no sense to me economically. In today's market environment physical assets are commodities. Their values are constantly changing, gold, to use the classic example, has seen it's price swing by $20/oz in a matter of hours. So if you are a business person completing an international contract, how do you price your product? What if you charge $50.00 a widget for a million widgets and the assets covering the USD take a tumble? Or on the other side, you accept the bid and the asset values behind the currency jump? The BRICS and others may not like it, but there is a reason that most trade is conducted in USD, stability. Of course the fact that the US still accounts for approximately 25% of the world's economy doesn't hurt.

I have looked at this a lot, and as I have said, I have waded through the Basil III documents, as well as documents from the IMF, WB, BIS, Fed ... you get the picture. I don't claim to understand all the technical economic crap, but I understand enough to conclude that a global RV ain't gonna happen.

Hey listen, I am not saying it is or it is not. I am saying it the reasons given for an RV/GCR have no basis as the information coming from the GUU pool is nonsense !
