5-12-2014 Newshound Guru Tlar Article: "Inside Iraq within the agreement « leaning back FATCA" Quote: "Saleh said in a statement ( morning) that this work gives immunity mutual agreement of both Iraq and the United States in the field of taxes and follow the movement of money in addition to that it increases the transparency in the exchange of information between the two sides of government." Things like this only lend credibility to an RV coming. IMO this is a law that is intended to stop anyone thinking of going to Iraq to cash out. It is not specifically written for that but it opens the door for the US to inquire about any US citizen’s private bank account in Iraq. So any of you that were thinking of going to Iraq to avoid paying taxes in the US, BEWARE.

IMO It has more to do with money laundering.

Pfft - They issue that travel warning every 3 months. Leave it to a guru to gear it up for RV purposes.

SSmith posted the travel warning ... tlar posted an excerpt from an article. Not much there, but I think it was talking about Iraqi law coordinating reporting with the FACTA act.

Well, they can obtain the financial information of US residents and Citizens in almost any country these days, and pursue those that attempt to hide assets and avoid paying taxes.
If that is one's intention regardless of the source of the hidden funds, then yes... beware.

What about the "Non-Americans" with an account in Iraq. So tunnel focused these stupid guru's are. So focused on the good ole USA all the time.
