Use Your Authority Well

Whoever wishes to be great among you must be your servant, and whoever desires to be first among you must be your slave—just as the Son of Man came not to be waited on but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many [the price paid to set them free].

God desires to restore us to our rightful position of authority in Christ. But first, we must learn to respect authority before we are fit to be in authority.

We all have authorities to whom God expects us to submit. Our government, our law officers, and even our merchants have the right to set rules for us to follow. If we are not submitting to God’s appointed authority, it will soon be revealed.

Keep a submissive attitude in your heart, and enjoy the authority you have been given to spend time in God’s presence today.

So true ... on the other hand, God's appointed authority is not to "lord" it over you. for if they desire/expect to be first, (leader) they are called to be lower (servant) to the rest. Unfortunately the opposite is all too prevalent amongst full time ministry. Most of the people my wife and I minister as pastor/teachers (our job description, not our title,) have been wounded, sometimes grievously by the shepherds (church leadership/pastors -- title.) Way too many scriptures to quote here, but start with 1 Cor 12.

That is called "Spiritual Abuse" - And I been on the wrong end of that ...

Sigh ... far too many have ... far too many. Sometimes it feels like we are running an ICU for sheep with shepherd bites.

Yes, it is bad Kevin when that takes place. God Bless you and you Wife in the process of working to heal the wounds! I did not realize that is what you did! I will keep you and your wife in my prayers. I have seen so many hurt to the point that they turn away from God, and the Church. God Bless You and Your Wife!!!!!
