I have to disagree with you ou812. I suspect that very few conservatives have a problem with his being black, oh there are a few no doubt, but there are also a few liberals who would also have a problem as well. Most conservative have a problem with his political stance, his agenda, his numerous "misstatements" etc. Obama is perhaps one of the most charismatic and skilled orators we have seen in a long time, unfortunately he is also one of the worst leaders we have seen in a long time. I know all the arguments, that he was not personally involved, that he did not actually issue the orders, that he inherited a mess, well they are his people, and this is is second term and things are no better. Other leaders have found ways to deal and reach across the aisle, he has not. Others have acted decisively when underlings have screwed up to correct the situation, he has not. Things are no better than when he took office, if anything they are worse, He is the guy what's in charge, and ultimately, the responsibility is his.

Most of all, the things said which she used to accuse Americans of prejudice are no worse than the things she herself and others said about GW Bush. Were they OK then because he was white or because he was a Republican?

Personally, Obama has lost the respect I had for him. I will continue to speak with respect, and treat him with respect out of my respect for the office, however he has done nothing to earn my respect, and a lot to lose it. I speak with a lot of people every week, I put on 180 miles today talking to people , and I can safely say that many others, Republican, Democrat, Independent, Conservative and Liberal, feel the same way.
