Hi Guys. This is the week from h-e-l-l for me. I'll be in depositions quite a bit of the time. I wanted to share this truly wonderful ad from the Super Bowl with you all. I hope you like it as much as I did.

Of course, but it was very much understated. This was perhaps my favorite, although the "Brotherhood" commercial from Budweiser, and the Jeep commercial were very close seconds.

SEB - why do you continue to make me cry??? jk
Love Paul Harvey and still sadened by his death. Lost my Grandfather many years ago, and we used to listed to PH together. With Paul's passing I still choke up on the memories.
Good message, thank you for sharing.

Yep, Hemi powered Dodge Ram. Go,Go,Go. Unfortunatley, it will not pass the gas station. Mine gets 12.1 miles to the gallon. Have to learn to keep my foot out of it.

I love a Dodge Truck- Nobody goes by me if'n I don't want 'em to,I put the H.P. chip in it, sacrificed 5 miles a gallon, but that's ok, it surprises the 'Hemi's' for 5 lengths-And that's 'WALKIN' on it-"HARD"-Not bad for a little '318'!!:cheers:

Yep, but if you have a load to haul it's tough to beat the Hemis ... unless you want to go with the Cummings diesel.

Re: So God Made a Farmer
I never had a problem, I've hauled fullsize railroad ties, full bed, gravel, a full bed, firewood full bed{8 foot bed', not a club or crew}, furniture, and cut, pre-seasoned oak,15-27 inch diameter, 20 inch pieces, and all with a fuel injected, multiport 318 Magnum V-8, and a 5 speed automatic transmission,/3.56-1 ratio rear axle- This truck is a BEAST, and I even hauled the front wheel truck out of a 55 foot doodlebug for the scenic railway-It's one of the best Dodge Trucks I ever had- I swear by 'em-Tougher than a bag of sledgehammers they are-

Re: So God Made a Farmer
Gee guys, I AM embarrassed. All I have is a Chevy 2500HD that gets 11 mpg and passes everything on the road but a gas station. Of course, since I like racing, I have had it modified just a LITTLE bit. When we pull the son-in-laws toy hauler you can actually watch the gas gauge go DOWN :-( Cryin' a river here.
But, those Dodges seem to be right up there for sure. My grandson wants one BAD. If he behaves and says please he may get his wish when this thing pops (if'n it ever does).
As to the "Farmer" SEB, Yep that about sums up farming - since I was raised on a farm in Iowa you might say I have "experience!" NO, I don't miss it one bit - I prefer trees and sub-zero cold to dirt and hot humid corn fields any day.
Beside they don't have salmon and halibut fishing in IOWA! But they do have a NASCAR track, bummer.

Mine gets 10 mpg, it's a 2000 1500 series SLT, with ALL the toys, but that's ok,because the POWER is there if and when I need it, and it doesn't have 100,000 on it yet!! It is a nice clean truck, AND, you CAN eat creamed corn off the intake manifold- How's that for 'CLEAN'?

Re: So God Made a Farmer
I'll have my eggs over easy please!!! Also no bacon, it leaves greasy smears that flare up and stain the headders. A can of pork and beans tucked away somewhere hot will provide the "veggie." Ah, a farmers delight - tractor cooked breakfast and no dishes as one drops the results on a slab of butted bread and walla.
Yuk, and double yuk. I think I just lost my appetite.

Re: So God Made a Farmer
True story - I DID remember to bring home the beer last night. Also a little rum for hot buttered rum toddies. But, no fear the Bobcat is here.
THAT and my boat are my two most entertaining possessions. The wife's cats don't even come close, but sometimes are a runner up category. Then there are the stupid moose that think they are birds and eat the sunflowers out of the bird feeders.
I tell ya, their ain't o such thing as sane out there.

Re: So God Made a Farmer
Looking for snow here Thursday night into Saturday AM. Looks like we are far enough inland to miss the blizzard conditions, but we could still see a couple of feet. Think I'll book my day Friday local ... might not be the best day to head over the mountain ...

Right down at the neighborhood PigglyWiggly. Do they have those in Iowa? Those might be farther south.

Re: So God Made a Farmer
Palmer: Been so long since I was in IOWA to buy anything especially eats that I couldn't tell you what store they have or don't. And I don't miss it either.
As far as salmon and halibut - i prefer mine fresh caught or fresh and personally processed - I also prefer them cooked on the gas grill. All this talk now has my mouth watering so I guess I will make up some halibut dip from last nights left overs and grab a beer and some Ritz!@!!! Cheers.
