Update on Rambo
My beloved Rambo passed on this morning, he is now home and buried.
As for the cat, he just sondered home this evening, all I have to say is - DOES ANYBODY WANT A CAT?????
if the no kill facility won't take him, he will go to another shelter or to some other home, absolute last resort will be not nice. He's lucky he is still alive now.

I was away this past week and saw your post about Rambo only just a little bit ago. I am so sorry for your loss of your feathered friend.

Re: Update on Rambo
Thank you all for everything, everybody here is so kind and caring. Leeanne30, I'm so sorry for your losses, never easy that's fore sure. I appreciate the offer and possibly in the future, but right now I'm just so raw inside that I'm afraid that the bird would only be judged and not hold up to Rambo, and not accepted and for who it is, and on it's own characteristics and merits and that would not be fair to your bird. I need some time to heal right now and just having to accept the fact that the vet said that it was an accident that Rambo died as the result of the bacteria that is natural in cat's saliva and no other injuries is probably the only thing keeping the cat alive and ironically in this house as I have found that I don't have the heart to kick him out of his house as he seems to not be understanding as to where Rambo went to. Apparently Rambo bit him hard enough for the cat to instinctively bite back just enough to say let go. Truely, if the cat was ugly at heart and was going to kill Rambo he would have done so by now, and even when Rambo bit him, and that didn't happen. Sometimes I hate having the heart of a melted marshmallow.

Re: Update on Rambo
HerbLady, so sorry for your loss of your beloved pet. My heart goes out to you.
Sounds like the cat was merciful after all. It sounds like the cat viewed the bird as a friend. I hope you can talk to the cat and forgive it. Yes, you are the human and can give the cat away, but I bet if the cat could talk, it would say it was very sorry.
I had something similar happen to me so I hired a pet communicator. She facilitated communication between my cat and me and it all worked out. Won't go into the story to take away from yours. Just a suggestion to help you understand from the cat's point of view.
Again, you have my condolences and best wishes. (((hugs)))

Re: Update on Rambo
Dear Herb Lady: What can anyone say to help ease your pain? Nothing, really. But please know that from one animal lover to another, my heart reaches out to you and understands the sadness you feel. Let no one trivialize your loss as "just a bird". Your Rambo had value, and your love of him deserves acknowledgement, and your very real mourning should be respected. It will take time, but healing of your sadness will happen. God will help you. Take care.

HerbLady, you can call Griffin Kanter in Houston. She only works by phone so it doesn't matter where you are located. She charged $1 per minute (I used 30 minutes) and you mail her a check when you're finished. She was very helpful to me. It was a long time ago and she may charge more now, but it wouldn't hurt to call her and inquire. Hope this helps. Let us know what happens!!
Here you go: Griffin Kanter is a professional animal communicator living in
Houston. She does in-home and telephone consultations as well as lectures and workshops.
For information, call (713)728-4985 or contact her at griffink@email.msn.com. Her webpage www.talkwiththeanimals.com is currently under
construction.

Re: Update on Rambo
Herblady, a very special cat of mine died because I left tire shine out and my cat Winnie knocked it over and licked it up, I drove to another state to a vet hospital and there was nothing they could do. I am to blame, but I cannot kill myself over it. This was 5 years ago. I hope you heal with the little guy (cat) he still needs you just like a family member. Don't lose both of your family members. God bless you.

Re: Update on Rambo
Fang1, that was a terrible accident that happened to your cat, and I am in agreement with the vet that this too was an accident, and I'm working on the cat issues, I can see that in his own way, he is mourning.
A big thank you to everyone. And the cat will most likely stay here. Thanks again!

HerbLady; my thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of loss. I cannot begin to fathom what I would feel like if I lost my dog, Patches, to a terrible accident like this. Please remember, the cat was acting on instinct, not out of predatory intentions.

Re: Update on Rambo
Thank you all for your kindness, you are all so sweet!! I'm doing much better, and know that Rambo is much happier up in heaven with his friends and now he can fly around to his heart's content!
The cat seemed to be mourning yesterday, and then was feeling better last night. He'll be allowed to stay here.
