The other day I believe I saw a post somewhere concerning a website to get a passport quickly. Does anyone know what the website address is?

There are some middle men that promise to get passports quickly - for a fairly hefty extra fee. I don't know how they prod the US govt to move faster. Maybe those guys just counterfeit the passports.

One of my family members got his maybe 6 months ago. He had the option to pay extra and get it really fast, and I mean really fast or go normal time frame.

You can probably do the same and Rick is right - just go to the Post Office. That's where all of us went for ours.

I wouldn't wait though as many others may be rushing in to do the same. That may be when a private source may prove better. You can get on the phone in your area and check it out.

One way or the other, anyone coming into this kind of money should have a passport for many reasons, not just using it for bank ID.. You may want to do some travel and what have you maybe a quick decision for whatever reason. They were less than $100., not all that much. Also, we are seeing the qualifications tighten and it's getting harder and harder so when you can everyone I would get one if I were you. My husband is even talking about extending ours because that is going to get harder also..

Ya all have a great day, passport question 30cmy9t

No, they don't prod the US Gov't to move faster...although that would be nice !

They usually do the IN PERSON with your paprwork for you at the local office. Saves you having to take a few days off work and going to stand in line to do it yourself for faster service.

I worked for Nortel Networks and had to go overseas for a month for the job, but had no passport. The company paid all the fees, and I got my Passport in a few days rather than the original/usual 3-4 weeks.

Great service if you NEED a passport ASAP !

I applied for my passport at the local City Hall. At that time you could pay an extra fee to have the process expedited. I don't remember how much it was because I just went the s-l-o-w route. I applied more than 6 months before my trip to Ireland, so no rush.

On second thought, maybe it doesn't make it any faster to pay more, it just makes it seem like we have some control over it! :geek:

Not to push the Post Office but you can pay an extra fee that will express mail it to you. Cost will increase the quicker you want it. Worked there for 30yrs and now retired. Good-Luck

Im sorry I do not know the link but it will get done faster than just going to the post office alone. Went with one of those companies and had mine in hand two days later. If i can remember the company I'll post there info. I think it cost about $200 more, if I remember correctly.

In any case... Get as much dinar as you can and get it now. DO NOT BUY RESERVES!!!!. Find the best exchange rate you can and get it before time runs out. Might not happen today or tomorrow or until September, but the more you have the better off WE ALL will be.

I do think the post office has all forms at the counter, the forms let you know what you need, Birth Cert, ect..., Get a passport photo, go back to post office and get it done, not counting waiting in line time, about 30 minutes tops at post office.

The fees, to the post office, are under $100 I think.

Visit your local Post Office and pick up 2 or 3 copies of the application - later, call them and set up a time to speak to the passport person.

They were very nice, and took the time to explain ALL options.... PLUS... they went over the application to verify that the information was submitted properly. Good experience and received the passport quickly choosing the quickest option.

Actually they are just over $100 now for adults ... $110 for a basic passport now. We got ours last just before it went up.

I have used an expiditor before. It took 14 days from the time I sent in my application until I received it in my hands. These companies actually have people that go to the passport office such as the one in Houston and deliver them to the front of the line. If you need something quickly, that is the route I would go. I would do it again in a heartbeat because I hate waiting.

Just my 2 cents.

One of our customers came in and was talking about traveling and getting her passport, she stated that she got hers through the court house and that as long as you have all of the pertinent information it should go through fairly quickly, said it only took about 14 days to get it. I do not know if she had to pay extra or not.
