Mine are all "O" gage, and mostly not O27 ... all Lionel and all vintage of course. Some were mine as a kid, some were my dad's when he was a kid ... when this comes in I will expand, and get some of the vintage stuff professionally restored.

If this comes in at $14.38 and if I didn't already have all my kids, and 8 grand kids, I would honestly name my next boy Okie!!!!!

I was thinking today. Okie has called this RV several times in the past month and he has taken a lot of flack for it, but he keeps on keeping on and that tells me that he has sources that are absolutely credible and in a position to give him the confidence to believe what they tell him. His confidence tells me that we should believe what he is telling us because he "knows" something that he isn't telling us and I think that what he knows is something that will make us all very happy.

I am grounded, I'm just sayin'!!!!

If the world is waiting for & relying on the revalued Dinar to save it from economic disaster, how can they do it at .86 or even a $1.00 as some gurus are saying. I'm not saying it has to be $14.38 but I would think at a bare minimum it would be somewhere around $4.00. If anyone has been holding or accumulating Dinars for the past 7 - 8 years, would they be in a big hurry to cash in at the low rate or figure since they've had it this long, heck might as well hold out awhile longer for a higher rate. If I had a million Dinars or more for that long, would I be willing to settle for $860,000 at .86? After all the stress, ulcers & work that I put into this, I rather doubt it.

Why couldn't it come out at a rate of $8.00 to the $14.38 for about a month to get all the big bills and save the world, then revalue down to the percentage of the Kuwaiti Dinar?

paigerj99, you think like I do. The higher the initial rate, the sooner the bulk of the IQD is off the streets and in the hands of the GOI or the UST.

Another way to think is just the opposite. Come out low, get the desperate and tired, raise it a few dollars, get the skeptics, then raise it again and publicize a dropoff date. The date that the rate will settle to where they are going to stabilize it.

Maybe he does and maybe he doesn't. I just don't see a $14.38 rate, I'd say a max of $5.00. If anybody is really sure it will be the $14 rate, I have 100,000 dinar that says by 5 pm CDT on 03/23/2012 it will not have RVed (assuming it has RVed by then) for more than $5.00.

Would I just love it to be $14.38? OH YES INDEED!!!

Just a thought if it's 14.28 after the 3 zeros are dropped -- it will be a nice gain -- but not the sort life changing results being thrown around the different boards.

Well it first would actually have to come in! Then you can worry about the amount! It is hard to believe that anything we are told is actual/factual, since none of it ever pans out to fruition! So at this point in time we will hope that there is a REAL RV, not someone constantly call it, but one that you can go to the bank on! As to the money, anything would be a blessing!

Everyone needs to stay grounded on this $14.38 thing. For one, Iraq has always said they will be deleting three zeros which would give us $.86!
You have to go by this, they have never said anything different.
We have heard everything from $1.00 to now $14.38 from the "gurus" not Iraq.

Anything above $.86 is just a bonus which I will be happy to take, but I'm telling myself $.86

I just read conference call notes from Okie, Blaino and Hammerman and in those notes Okie kept insisting that he was still hearing $14.38. He never backed down. The other guys were saying around $4.40 but Okie never backed down. One thing that Blaino said was that he was having lunch with Okie at some Pope Catholic presentation and all of a sudden Okie went up and was on the pulpit talking. HE said Okie knows everyone in high places. Two of his contacs are a senator and a high up official in the IMF.

Now I am just saying that those here who are calling BS on the rate and what Okie is saying don't really know Okie personally and they have no clue who his contacts are but I think somebody is going to be eating crow pretty soon.

Tariq's Take

In the practice of law they have a saying ... "never ask a witness a question that you don't already know the answer to". In the O.J. Simpson trial Chris Darden had O.J. try the gloves on in front of the jury, convinced that they had to fit him. When they appeared too tight it left doubt in the minds of the jurors. (I read that O.J. just went without his arthritis medication for a few days which resulted in his hands swelling to throw the jury off in the event of a glove demonstration, but I digress). Darden had never witnessed O.J. putting the gloves on so he didn't know how they would fit. A colossal blunder.

Sunday the IQD Team did a conference call where they introduced a man from Iraq named Tariq who they claim has worked as an interpreter for US forces. The idea was to get the take of somebody who lives in Iraq and knows Arabic and can offer a qualified view on what is being said in Iraq. During the course of the call one of the panel members (Shannan I believe - about 45 minutes in) asked him about the face value of the new dinar that will be issued. His response wasn't exactly what they were expecting. He insisted that a 25K IQD note will be exchanged for a new 25 note. He explained that if it was a 1:1 exchange there would be no resulting reduction in the money supply. Without using the word, he was basically saying that Iraq is going to lop. OOPS! Gotta prep those interviewees a tad better in the future!

The panel spent most of the rest of the conference call trying to explain how Tariq is young, doesn't have access to the same articles that they do, doesn't know what they know .... yada yada. But they never really addressed the main point he was making, that a 1:1 exchange accomplishes nothing when it comes to one of the CBI's stated goals of reducing the amount of dinar in circulation. I'd say maybe the fact that he lives there and hears what's being said and knows the language gives him a better grasp rather than a worse one. JMO.

You have to have multiple plans. Jonny now says back screens have been "compromised" by Feds and they are mucking with the rates, so $14.38 could be a myth.

We know $4.40 has been "guaranteed" to our military men and women who left Iraq with vouchers.

Rumors today have a rate of $1.30, which would be a "de-dollarization" rate to get dinars out of circulation. Personally I would not cash much in at that rate. $4.40 would get my attention, above that I'm probably all-in.

At $14.38 I'm buying and NHL team and moving it to Seattle. And building a new arena!

This voucher thing has never been proven and I can't find one military person who even knows what it is. If there were one shred of proof to it, we would have seen a voucher.
