Karbala warns from economic recession for decreasing value of Iranian currency

Karbala (NINA) – Economic Committee in Karbala local government warned from repercussions of the decreasing value of the Iranian currency on economy in the city and Iraq.
Chairman of the committee, Tariq Al Khaikani, told NINA correspondent that “the decreasing value of the Iranian rial turned into a major recession in the economic transactions and tourism in Karbala and the other Iraqi provinces.”
He added “businessmen and exchange shops are avoiding the use of the Iranian currency in the local markets due to the increasing fears from the impact of the western sanctions on Iran.”
He stressed “the importance that the central government should adopt a case of economic equilibrium through organizing mechanisms that guarantee saving Iraq from being affected by those sanctions as soon as possible.”
Tourism in Karbala is slackening in unprecedented way for several days now due to the big decrease in the Iranian tourists numbers visiting holy shrines. /End/
