THINK about it... is it possible that YOUR credit/debit card info can be STOLEN from your wallet/purse... WITHOUT it ever leaving your pocket/purse?
Post RV - your credit/debit card and financial information will be MORE VALUABLE to identity thieves...
NOTE: I discovered this information while doing some research and planning on how to protect what God provides... and my family. I have neither any connection nor affiliation with any product or service related to this post. This information is given freely and should be treated just the same as one would eat catfish... "Swallow the meat.... and spit out the bones...". I find it fascinating, somewhat alarming, and timely information. Take a look and decide for yourself what is best for you.

Is YOUR credit/debit card - Passport INFO SAFE? Empty Re: Is YOUR credit/debit card - Passport INFO SAFE?

Post by Flinstone Thu Jan 26, 2012 9:47 pm

I have been thinking aout this alot lately. Since I have been going to these web sites regarding the dinar, my computer has been acting very strange. When I log on to the internet, it doesn't route me through my secure modem but an unsecure modem. I have not been able to change this yet.

When cash in time comes, I will go to the different banks I use and open new accounts for the cash in while I figure out how to secure the funds and investments.

I am off now to check your link. Thank you

One way to avoid the Credit/debit card ripoff is to buy prepaid cards, All you can lose is what is loaded on. You can still buy things, rental cars, flights, online sales, ect.... and not have the exposure.

Incredible, isn't it? One moment you're walking through the mall, standing in line at a restaurant or movie. Someone next to you passes a bag past your pocket or purse... next thing you know... they have your credit/debit card info. Name, card number, ALL CREDIT INFORMATION stored on the card, and even the 'secret code' on the back.

HANDY, practical, and ECONOMICAL TIP of the DAY: LINE your wallet credit/debit card/passport/drivers license holder with ALUMINUM FOIL (not fancy... but it WORKS!) After RV, buy one of those purse/wallet/passport carriers with the aluminum lining integrated into its construction.

MEANWHILE, have A BLESSED and OVERWHELMINGLY PROSPEROUS DAY!

On tv, they sell something called the Aluma-wallet for $20 bucks. I bought the identical thing at Wal-Mart for $10. This is supposed to keep the bad guys from getting your info in this manner. I thought it would be uncomfortable to carry because it doesn't flex when you sit down, but it ain't bad at all. Everyone in my family carries one now.

Post by chevysteve Thu Mar 22, 2012 10:19 am

I think my passport is safe as I have that locked away in my safe. My credit / debit card, now thats a different story. I used to leave them on the center console of my CHEVY truck as I believed them to be safe there.

Now my wife has them in her possession so I know they are not safe. Although I would dare some thief to try and take them from her. They would definately suffer a butt whoopin!!!

I got one of those at Walmart (on TV you get 2 for $20)about 4 months ago and liked it pretty well until the latch broke, now I can't close it. And if you are a wallet stuffer, you won't like it, holds a lot less before you can't close it at all. Does protect the CCs though and is pretty comfortable to carry.

Great Post, [prosetian]! Just a note: The SECURITY of those Aluma-wallets is the aluminium material. Until you replace it, you may think about using a thick rubber band to hold it closed and enjoy the same protection as BEFORE the latch broke. Better than having your credit/debit card info exposed to ID thefts. At least that's what I'd do. Maybe someone has a better idea... all ideas welcomed...

I may be mistaken, but I think that warning applies only to "smart cards" with the embedded chip. It it has a standard magnetic strip it has to pass through a reader, so the biggest risk would be a clerk passing it through a second reader on the sly when you make a purchase, or someone sticking a dummy head on a gas pump or ATM machine.

Great observation, [Kevin53]! THANKS!
YOU are so right. It's the 'smart cards' that have the embedded chip as well as the standard magnetic strip. The problem is, at this point, they reportedly are being embedded in many cards issued and, apparently the banks do not have to disclose that information.
For that reason, it MAY be a good idea to ASK if the chips are in the card anyway.
YES... The clerk IS a big risk.
AND, once ALL your credit/debit card INFORMATION (name, credit/debit card number(s), pin # and 3 digit code on the back, (ALL 'grabbed' with a quick 1-2 second scan of your purse or walled) THEN that 'dummy head' (on a homemade credit/debit card) can SO EASILY give the THIEF TOTAL access to YOUR account(s) at a gas pump OR any ATM machine, OR online purchases OR purchases by phone.

RISK can be reduced, by thinking it through and taking a few simple precautions.
