Australian Dinar Dealer say sales "On Hold"?

I read this post on Dinar Recaps and decided it was worth investigating. I went to the web address listed in the post and the sight was down, but when I entered "Dinar Exchange Australia" in a Google search, their site link was right there, so clicked on it.

I decided to use the chat option on the site instead of incurring long distance charges. It is 11:25PM Arizona time, so I knew someone would be working down under due to the time difference. I clicked on the chat and an operator named Sonya quickly came on the line. I captured a transcript of the chat via their screen shot tool, but am having difficulties posting an image with this post. If you want to see it I am happy to email it to you directly or if someone can give me instructions on how to post an image with a post I will do so.

The chat went exactly like this:

Me: Hello, are you folks still selling Dinar?

Sonya: No we are on hold

Me: Oh, can I ask why?

Sonya: No comments at this stage

Me: I understand and appreciate your assistance. I am in Arizona in the USA and visit Sydney frequently. I hope you have a pleasant day.

What does this mean? Not sure. My first impulse is to get excited, but I need to qualify the reason why they are "on hold".

Dinar Story From M.I.G. 1-9-2012

[drewzdinar] My buddy was ordering in Australia from a website called www.dinarexchange.com.au. He had a friend order from the site yesterday and then today when he went to order another order the site was down. Right away he thought was the site a scam and they ran with the money.

[drewzdinar] He then called the owner of the site because he had saved their contact information and their response was "that the Iraqi government has asked them to stop selling IQD and to halt all transactions"

To be clear, the first part of this post is my own first-hand experience. The post from Dinar Recaps begins near the bottom titled: Dinar Story from M.I.G. 1-9-2012.

landcareunlimited if you had the Intel that the Intel givers have, you would not be siting your sources either. There is no harm in giving your source. It is for all the public. Not nice insinuations about the Intel givers.

If the assumption that they have resumed selling Dinar was simply gleaned from reading their web site home page, that is INACCURATE because the rates and web page were the exact same last night when I was on chat with their representative last night.

BUT-----seeing as the australian dollar is worth more than us-----why is the price so high?

I thought the same thing last night. Last time I was in Sydney the exchange rate was $.75US=$1.00AUS...now the Aussie dollar is worth more than the US Dollar. Under the OLD exchange rate those numbers make sense, but the price does seem high. I can only state it was the same last night when I was told their Dinar sales are "on hold" .

Only two economic principles can account for the difference:

1.) They have some level of distribution exclusivity and can charge what they want,

-OR-

2.) There may be significant governmental fees associated with these types of transactions.

Keeping in mind that aside from Iraqi sources, the only sources of Dinar are in the US, Great Britain or Australia. I am sure demand and pricing fluctuates in all three countries.

I went to the website, and found it to be up and operating just like normal.
I looked at the prices they want for their Dinar,
a bit high $2,000 AUD for 1MIL Dinars

I have looked and cannot find another Dinar dealer or bank that sells Dinar in Australia. Anyone have any links so we can verify if the fact that Dinar Exchange no longer selling Dinar is an isolated case or something more...

Agreed...I just got off the phone with them. The operator said they had received a "stop selling" order from the CBI, but have now been authorized to commence selling. He said they did NOT run out of inventory, they had simply been told to stop selling.

Is this just something that is standard or is it time to get a little happy for another step.

I just went to XE.com and converted 2,000 AUD to USD. One million IQD paid for in AUD is 2000AUD. That 2000AUD convert to $2056.23. That does seem a little high to me. Hmmmmm.

Don't suppose anyone wants to hear that the Australian Ambassador to Iraq was IN IRAQ as I write this?

Australia's dinarexchange seems to be operating fine now, so maybe thats not it either...

IMHO - a glitch in the system and they are using the glitch to sell more dinar when the site comes back up...
