Private Banker?? Empty Private Banker??

Post by panamabev Tue Dec 13, 2011 8:59 pm

Don't mean to ask if this has already been answered, but I called Wells Fargo today to ask procedure for making an appointment with a Private Banker. I was told that I could not make an appointment until I 'deposited' the money. I told the lady that I will have the money before the month was out and wanted to set up an appointment now. She insisted that the money has to already be in the account. Is this true?? :?:

Could be that branch, or all, Try to contact a Regonal Supervisor. But if they give you a bad time, you might rethink as to depositing with them post RV.

I would bet if they knew how much money that they just missed out on that person would get fired or moved to a little cashier position maybe you should let them know when this is over ... Or just do them like in the movie pretty woman?// they don't know if you have money or not they should help in any way they can....My bank set up an appointment and they know that I don't have alot of money...

Post by panamabev Tue Dec 13, 2011 9:18 pm

All the pre work is in place, I already have my financial team in place. I just wanted to do as someone on the OOM team suggested about making an appointment with the Private Banker. WF is my bank, I I did tell the lady that was my first time hearing that and would call the main office and thanked her. I don't think she knew what she was talking about. I have BOA also, but will not use them.

I have an update. I called my WF bank today and was told by Ms. X, the lady I usually talk to, that the person I spoke with the other day was in error. Ms. X told me that she (Ms. X) is the one that I would call to set up a private banker appointment. She said the money does not have to already be deposited but they would want to know the amount that they would be dealing with so they will know what products to offer. I also spoke in person the the officer at BOA and was basically told the same thing. I feel a little better now! Very Happy

I guess that's what I get for listening to a few of what I thought were some of the top OOM team giving Post RV instructions. I thought I was following instructions.

I talked with both my banks today and both gave me the information I needed according to what I read on this site. I know both officers. The problem was only because I spoke with a person that did not really know. Ms. X, whom I know, was with another customer and the lady said she would try to help. Now since talking to the correct persons, I know what to do and who to talk to when RV happens. We are told that it is good if you know the bank and they know you, which I do...therefore I don't leave them alone. I am constantly reading, not to wait until RV...start planning now so that is what I am doing...

Thanks to those that helped by answering the original question. I did get the right person and the answer. I don't like waiting until the last minute, so thanks for the early bird preparation instructions. I now have my team together. Whatever I can do now, I plan to do and to keep my stress level down. I think I have ducks in a row. RV, RV RV bigsmile

Post by taoist Sat Dec 17, 2011 10:43 am

yesterday,I dropped in to the wells fargo branch here that handles currency exchange and the Branch manager gave the same old song and dance about Iraq still not being on the ofec list and so unless that suddenly changed they would not be handling this currency. This is what I have heard when enquiring into the banks themselves. Chase said the same thing although that was 9 months ago. So I guess I will just have to wait til the rate shows up on the CBI website and than go from there. The rest just seems like conjecture. Merry Christmas

Since things seem to keep changing as time goes by, it doesn't make sense to put too much time into anything until there is a reality that something is going to happen!

Tax laws are changing, and on January 1st 2012, banking rules and reporting to IRS change too!

If and when we actually "Finally" get there, then it will be prudent to see what rules and regulations will be appropriate at that time!

I am prefacing this with that I do not believe that it will take another year! However, NO ONE and I mean NO ONE can guarantee you that this will happen this year, much less by this time next year!

Keep yourself on top of issues that relate to you, but there will be plenty of time in a post RV/RI to handle your business!

You are correct, even though I know the folks at both my banks, several months ago when I asked them about buying Dinar, they were both evasive. That is because at that level, I don't think they know and if they are privy, they must be hush, hush, otherwise they would get no work done...all of us would be calling all day long. lmao I am fortunate to know most of the good folks at both my banks. After the first time I ask about the Dinar several months ago and they gave me that 'not handling that' speech. I did not ask again. As I stated above, YESTERDAY BOTH WERE VERY HELPFUL IN GIVING ME PROCEDURE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH A PRIVATE BANKER!! (no mention of Dinar). I have the people that I need on standby, including safety and precaution. I am just following some of the suggestions from (some) the OOM team and doing what is best for me and for my situation...nuff said...It's working for me. Smile

I did ask Fifth Third a couple of months ago, because I know someone that bought about 5 mil from them off and on for a few years. When I called Fifth Third, they did indeed tell me that they were selling them but not now as investment, only to those traveling to Iraq!!

SIDE NOTE: I LOVE THE 'PRIVATE BANKER' SONG!! lol!

Brains, I am so inquisitive. I also asked my BOA officer about the mortgages that they own or whatever. He told me about the Warren Buffett thing, something about the stock being down and that's when Warren Buffett bought a lot. He tried to clear other rumors I had heard on the news and from people...not saying it is true, it's just what he told me. He explained about the mortgage thing too. He told me that BOA did not own mortgages, he said that was Country Wide, which I think he said BOA bought. Just what I was told. scratch

Oh well...back to waiting for RV!!

panamv said, "...told me that BOA did not own mortgages,..."

That is actually a very accurate statement. However, think a moment: if BoA does NOT "own" a mortgage, why would you be voluntarily "Paying" them, as if they did "own" it? Hmmm

Can they even provide you with lawful free and clear "title" if and when you do completely "satisfy the alleged debt"?? Valid questions you may wish to consider carefully.

Oh well...I won't have that worry because I don't have a mortgage...just my inquiring mind asking because of a post I read from someone else on one of the threads. I think the officer was saying the original debt was through Countrywide not with BOA. Oh well, it doesn't apply to me. I hope all goes well with those that were caught in this situation:|

Private Banker?? Empty Re: Private Banker??

Post by panamabev Thu Dec 29, 2011 6:11 pm

Thank you for the compliment, got my 62nd coming up soon...so I really appreciate that!! Very Happy

I don't have a mortgage due to reasons I posted on another thread. I had 5 brand new homes I rented...well less say I took a loss due to unscrupulous business practices involving others. 'YEAH and Praise the Lord' I learned a valuable lesson!!! Rolling Eyes

Oh well that was in the pass...this is a new day and coming upon a new year!!

Glad you're mortgage free --YEAH and Praise the Lord!

Did you know the root word meaning for "mortgage " is "death pledge"?? How enlightening.............

I sense you to be a delightful positive and lovely lady, and you're most welcome.

looking forward to becoming my own "private banker" in a much larger sense than has been possible in the past

Just what I was told. scratch

Oh well...back to waiting for RV!!

well I don't think I will be useing BOA after the rv I tried to talk to them about cashing in the exotic currency and the asked which one and I told them that it was the iqd and they hung up on me .. :( So I talked to BOK in down town tulsa ok and they told me come on down it would take 24 to 48 hrs for the turn around so I thought I would call a BOK that was closer and they told me that they could not talk to me if I did not have an account I told her about my talk with the main branch she then sent me to another person which did not answer and I got a recording affraid so I did not leave a message I will wait until the rv then they can kiss my... scratch .. booty... and give me good deals until I am satisfied..lol Private Banker?? 567726376

Thanks, I try to stay positive. I've been working on my book, 'From The Grave To Grace, My Journey'. I would like to think that out of almost 62 years...I learned something~~

And yes, I want to be my 'OWN BANKER' too!!

Private Banker?? Empty Re: Private Banker??

Panamabev, I do have a private banker, but only because my sibs and I have an inheritance in the wings, from the selling of a couple of farms and two homes.

However, some of us are considering the idea of keeping the land, so the sale is on hold and really don't know how much longer that acct will be kept open...

One nice thing I found out tho, is that they are REALLY nice to you and very helpful, answered a lot of questions. Very helpful in finding the resources you will need if it hasn't already been done.
