The Parliamentary Economy and Investment Committee confirmed that the Central Bank increased the pumping of the currency in order to maintain the exchange rate, but it failed to do so, pointing out that the government took financial measures that negatively affected the Iraqi economy, especially the citizen.

Committee member Mithaq Al-Hamidi told Al-Maalouma, " Iraq has become mired in foreign debt due to the government's financial policy and the lack of any benefit from the white paper that cracked the heads of parliament members in order to vote on it."

And she added, "The government, through its financial measures and increasing the dollar exchange rate, tried to maintain the balance of the central bank and the hard currency, which caused an increase in all prices for everything in the country."

And she indicated that "the central bank, after the measures taken by the government, began pumping more currency under the pretext of maintaining the exchange rate, while it failed to do so, and prices rose in an unprecedented manner, which caused great damage to the citizen."
