TURF...... http://republicbroadcasting.org/?p=17561
For the first time since the 80th legislative session in 2007, all the grassroots groups that took on Texas Governor Rick Perry to stop the Trans Texas Corridor (TTC) and place a moratorium on public private partnerships (or P3s) gathered at the AT&T Executive Education and Conference Center in Austin, Saturday, October 15, to celebrate their collective victory in finally achieving the complete repeal of the Trans Texas Corridor from state statute (Kolkhorst’s HB 1201 was signed into law June 17, 2011).
Several current and former state representatives gave emotional acceptance speeches saying they were “honored” to received awards at TURF’s ‘Stars of Texas’ award luncheon. The event recognized and celebrated the work of Texas State Rep. Lois Kolkhorst and former State Rep. David Leibowitz to repeal the Trans Texas Corridor (TTC), former State Rep. Jim Dunnam and Bexar County Commissioner Tommy Adkisson’s efforts to keep tolls off existing roadways and stop the sale of Texas roads to private corporations, and Rep. David Simpson’s work to rein-in invasive searches by the TSA that impede freedom to travel.

Don't mess with Texas. Don't mess with Texans. Shame on Rick Perry for trying to swindle private land owners out of their property and sell it to foreign corporations. We should deport him to Lybia. Shamless huckster. Rattlesnake!

Shhhhh!!!!! Let's not tell everyone Texas' dirty little secrets. That way they might elect him president, get him out of Texas, and then he would approve Texas leaving the US as he has been advocating.

I did see that the Mexican Truck crossing and coming 1,000's of miles into the US are starting up due to NAFTA being enforced, that should be interesting.

Re: Texans celebrate repeal of Trans Texas Corridor
I wonder if perhaps the election of the Gov. of Texas (Perry) as President would be such a good idea considering all of the information now coming out about him. If he has done what is purportedly stated I wonder if we would then gain anything over what we now have? Without getting directly deep into this discussion I would forward the theory that if someone has existing baggage going in (or has it and fails to tell about it pre-election) the baggage will become the problem of the electorate at some time during their term of office. If Perry has this baggage now is it not sensible thinking to prevent him from getting the nomination?
The easiest way is to see that he doesn't garner sufficient support prior to and during the convention thereby preventing him from a successful run for the nomination.
Look what happened to the US after the last Presidential election. Do we want a repeat? NO, and we don't want what we now have either.
Time for a change.
It doesn't look like Perry is much of a change does it? I say this at the risk of messing with a Texan - however, I learned a long time ago that two wrongs don't make a right. Let's get all the information out on ALL of the candidates this time and trot it around long enough to force out the negative things and highlight the positive.
WE THE PEOPLE need a President that will restore this country to it previous strong, progressive, secure and financially solvent state. We do not need someone like what we now have nor do we need one that is obviously not for the people and the greatness of this great country ie: someone with a hidden and/or personal agenda. Again, time for a change. JMHO
