LiarLiar is a voice stress analysis tool for Linux.
Voice-stress analysis, an alternative to the
polygraph as a method for lie detection, is
already widely used in police and insurance
fraud investigations. LiarLiar's main purpose is
to detect stress in a person's voice. Higher
stress levels can be an indication that the person
is not being truthful. LiarLiar uses voice stress
analysis techniques to attempt to quantify the
amount of stress present in speech. LiarLiar is
not a lie detector; however, many people will
probably use it as such. Moreover, lie detection
using voice stress analysis (VSA) techniques have
come under much scrutiny as of late. More
recent information and technical details about
the software can be found in the forums.

PS. This is not a 'political' post, so don't post 'political' stuff that I cannot respond to or I have to delete it. Just so you know. The point of the title is how to apply tech to analyze speech patterns, but not political.

The technique is actually pretty accurate, or can be in the hands of someone who knows how to use it ... I imagine the software is more advanced, but the systems law enforcement is starting to use is about 98% accurate, better than a lie detector and unlike a lie detector it can't be spoofed.
