Central Bank Net Withdraws VND12 Trillion via OMO in Oct. 3-6
The State Bank of Vietnam, the country’s central bank net withdrew VND12 trillion on OMO from Oct 3 to Oct 6, in which it pumped VND10 trillion and withdrew VND22 trillion, the local newswire NDHMoney reported, citing Reuters’ data.
The SBV is expected to withdraw another VND5 trillion on Oct. 7, totaling VND27 trillion of withdrawal for the whole week.
Last week, the central bank net injected VND6 trillion, adding to the total net injection of VND28 trillion in September.
The interbank interest rates as of Oct 6 were 12.5-13.5% p.a. for overnight, 14.6% for 1-week, 16.5%-17.5% for 1-month and 17.5-18.5% for 3-month terms.
