The head of the provincial council of Karbala, Nasif Jassem al-Khattabi, said that the provincial officials welcome and support the investments of the Iranian productive companies in the province.
During an inspection visit with Iranian ambassador to Iraq Erj Musjdi of the branch of the Iranian company "Kala" for milk and cheese near the city of Karbala, Al-Khattabi pointed out that the presence of companies such as "agency" helps to revitalize the economy of the province and provide employment opportunities and is welcomed by officials and citizens.
Al-Khattabi stressed that the Karbala provincial council is ready as a local government to provide any possible support to the large and successful Iranian companies to open branches and factories in Karbala and to initiate the production process in Iraq.
He pointed out that one of the objectives of Karbala province administration is to support these companies to upgrade the quality and quality of products and even obtain the necessary licenses to export products outside Iraq or even to Europe.
For his part, the Iranian ambassador in Baghdad that Iran will remain in a stage after the urging of the people and the government of Iraq, the friendly and brotherly country.
"We emphasize the presence of productive companies and the manufacture of Iranian products inside Iraq and the transfer of technology."
He added that "Iranian companies can at the current stage to move from the stage of importing products and selling them in the Iraqi market to the stage of investment in Iraq and cooperation with the Iraqi side for the production facilities and facilities and local workforce."
On the other hand, in a speech during a meeting of officials of Iran's cultural institutions in Iraq, Ambassador Masjedi announced that Iran's exports of non-oil goods to Iraq will reach between 8.5 and 9 billion dollars until the end of the current Iranian year (ends on 20 March 2019).
Masjedi said that despite developments in recent months, as well as problems such as dealing with the dollar, the trade relations between the two countries in recent months have developed.
He added that while the total value of Iran's non-oil exports to Iraq last year 6.5 billion dollars, it is expected in the current pace to increase the number to between 8.5 and 9 billion dollars by the end of the year (Iran). He explained that Iran's gas exports to Iraq, which was 12 million cubic meters per day has risen to 20 million at the present time.
The Iranian ambassador said: Iraq is the first country of exports of Iranian goods, and was third after China and the UAE previously. The meeting was scheduled to be held in Basra in the presence of senior economic activists and ministers and governors of the two countries, among the new achievements to develop economic cooperation between the two countries.
The total trade volume of Iraq with the countries of the world about 190 billion dollars annually, Iran's share of them with the calculation of electricity and gas about 14 billion dollars, or about 7 percent.
